Daily life with a new pocket camera.

I recently purchased a Fuji Klasse S, which is a small pocketable point and shoot camera that shoots 35mm film.  I have fallen head over heels in love with this little thing.  I love that I can throw it in a jacket pocket and have it with me anywhere I go...I've always felt a little strange taking a big professional looking camera into random everyday places like the grocery store or the post office but this changes that and allows me to feel way more comfortable shooting in places I never would have before.  I think there is also a certain degree of artistic freedom that one feels when using a point and shoot camera...it breaks photography down to its purest and most basic form and thus takes some of the seriousness away allowing (me at least) to feel more liberated in what I choose to shoot.  Not to mention it has an absolutely killer little lens on it. Anyway, I'm sure you all don't particularly care to hear me ramble on about my infatuation with my new toy...so lets get on to a few photos that I've taken with it over the past few weeks.

2014. The Year In Review.

Well in my typical fashion, I am a month late in getting this post published...despite knowing that the end of the year is coming, I am never totally prepared for the amount of time it takes to really dig through an entire years worth of work and choose a few favorites.  Decision making has never been easy for me. :) Though as much of an overwhelming task as putting this post together can be...I really enjoy it.  The end of the year is obviously a great time for reflecting on the things you have accomplished and reevaluating the places you would like to go...especially as an artist.  2014 was a really incredible year for us both professionally and personally.  We saw some of our closest friends start amazing new chapters in their lives...and Shauna and I started one of our own as new parents.  I know I say it a lot...but there isn't a day that goes by that I am not totally blown away by the fact that I am able to do this photo thing for a living.  I am so incredibly thankful to those who trust me to document some of the most important moments in their lives.  It truly truly means the world to me.  Being a photographer has taken me to some pretty amazing places, introduced me to equally amazing people and provided me with time that I am now able to invest back into my family and caring for my son.  I love what I do more than I can effectively express and I hope to continue this journey for years to come.

So that's a wrap on 2014...its been a helluva ride! Here's to an awesome 2015 for us all!  Can't wait to see what it has in store.

And with that...with no particular rhyme or reason, here's a few of my personal favorites from the last year.
