Alicyn and Ross Engaged

I met up with Alicyn and Ross last night at Longwood Gardens for their engagement shoot.  Alicyn and I have known each other since we went to Australia together on a student ambassador trip in 2000.  We have had one of those friendships where over the years you don't talk nearly as much as you should but always know that person is still a very close friend.  Ross is absolutely awesome, he's perfect for Alicyn, they compliment each other in every way possible right down to their equal appreciation for german engineered vehicles (we all... myself included have an affinity for Volkswagens).

As for the pictures, Longwood was dark... and cold, but the major issue was the lack of light.  Sure the place is lit up like a christmas tree, literally...but it was still pretty freaking dark.  Most of you who keep up with this blog probably know that I try to avoid using flash as much as possible.  I really find that natural light is much more flattering, but there really wasn't much natural light to work with in this situation...so flash it was.  I did the best I could and I think that we came away with some really nice stuff.

I am super excited to shoot this wedding, I have some major catching up to do with Alicyn and her parents (miss you guys too) and am really looking forward to meeting Ross's family.  Anyway, here's a few shots from the evening, hope you guys like em!
