Blog Update

It's been kinda quiet around here lately huh? The truth is, I am really having trouble finding the time to blog.  Running a full time photography business and being a stay at home Dad for Rider is not an easy task.  Our current arrangement leaves me with 2-2.5 days a week to really get some solid work done, which means that time needs to be pretty damn productive.  The vast majority of those 2.5 days are spent emailing clients, going to meetings, shooting, editing, designing albums, and delivering photos.  I have timelines laid out for all of my clients and making sure that I am able to stick to those commitments is my number one priority. Thus, blogging has had to take a temporary backseat.  Which is a bit of a problem when you are a photographer...showing work is the only way to book more of it so I need to address this issue ASAP. The whole process of blogging is super time consuming...at least for me.  Figuring out the proper flow of images that complement each other best is the first hurdle but it is really the writing part that eats up most of my time.  It's not that I think I am a bad writer, I'm just not a very efficient one.  I was an english major in college, which you would think would be helpful...and I'm sure that it is to a certain extent but at the same time, it causes me to question every single sentence that I write.  I scour through my posts and contemplate the use of every word.  I'll usually end up deleting some or all of what I had just written and starting over again until I eventually have something that I am happy with.

As much as I hate to do it, for now I need to make some changes.  I am planning to start concentrating more on imagery and less on the writing.  Since I started blogging four years ago I have always tried to tell a little piece of my clients stories and I have really loved doing that...but it has become far too time consuming for me to keep up with at this point in my life with Rider.  I'm sure I will eventually get back to doing it but for now I need to do whatever will allow me to share more work.  I just thought that I would mention it and give a little bit of an explanation so that there isn't this abrupt change and future clients take it personally. :)

Anyway, I have a fairly large backlog of things to share and I am planning to start posting some of it soon.  In the meantime, here are a handful of images of the little man that has been taking up so much of my time lately.
